How to Store

Some handy hints & tips on timber storage

(See right for links for more information…)

There are three main design factors in the creation of a good wood shed: shelter, to keep the wood dry, ventilation to allow it to season and dry further and easy access for bringing it from the shed to the stove or fire. If you purchase unseasoned logs, for proper log rotation, ideally you would use up one section completely before starting on the next. That way you won’t end up with all your seasoned stuff at the back, buried under a new load of wood! If space permits, build a shed that will hold a two year supply.

No need for a shed with the Bumper Bag!

Alternatively, if you don’t have storage space you can purchase logs in our convenient and fully weather proof Bumper Bags. Each bag holds 0.4m3 of dry fuel and can be stored at the side of a house or at the back door and replaced as needed.
